GOOD MORNING, LORD!

(NKJV) says, “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.”

It is with this sentiment that I penned the following piece.  My best poetry is borne out of my quiet times with God.  In the case of David and the other Psalmists, my praise to God is often poetic in its form.  You are now invited to eavesdrop on my personal conversation with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords…

Good morning, Lord!
Thanks for waking me up!
Good morning, Lord!
Your grace is enough!

It’s enough for me to face the day.
It’s enough so I won’t go astray.
Thank you, Lord, for mercies anew.
Thank you, Lord, for all you do.

I confess to you the sins I’ve done.
Forgive me, Lord, I know your Son.
He died to pay sin’s deadly price.
He rose with help for every vice.

Good morning, Lord!
Thanks for waking me up!
Good morning, Lord!
Your grace is enough!

It’s enough for me to face my fears.
It’s enough so I can share with peers.
I’ll share with those who need to know,
That Jesus gives my light its glow.

I pray with all simplicity.
Help me to walk respectfully.
Cleanse my mind and make it pure.
Guide my steps, my feet secured.

Good morning, Lord!
Thanks for waking me up!
Good morning, Lord!
Your grace is enough!

O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. (ESV)
